About BPost
BPost is the national parcel and postal service system of Belgium. It provides specially curated services for ecommerce sellers across Europe, North America and some parts of Asia. One of its most notable initiatives is the development of an autonomous delivery robot called "Postbox." The Postbox is a small, electrically-powered delivery robot carrying up to 10kg of mail and parcels. It is equipped with sensors and cameras to navigate autonomously and avoid obstacles. The Postbox has been designed to work alongside human postmen and women, delivering mail and parcels to customers' homes and businesses.
BPost’s ecommerce solutions are divided into 2 categories, for businesses which ship more than 1000 packages annually and for the ones that don’t. While small and medium businesses with less than 1000 annual shipment loads can create a free account with BPost, larger businesses must register a contract-based account.
Most of the features in both services are the same, such as the cost of shipping labels, technical and customer support and real-time order tracking. Some of the notable differences between the two are storefront plugins and the lack of an account manager for small and medium businesses. Large enterprises can set up shop on PrestaShop, WooCommerce, and Magento, while SMEs are only given the Shopify plugin.
Businesses can easily transport their inventory to BPost warehouses by using their Collect service, which picks up all consignments before noon. Entrepreneurs can pay for it online and don’t have to be present at the venue at the time of pickup. BPost offers two types of domestic deliveries - Standard and With Warranty. Standard shipments can be sent to any address or delivery point and cannot weigh more than 30 kg. With Warranty shipments offer shipping insurance against loss or damage upto 500 euros or 530 USD. They offer a digital proof of delivery (POD) upon successful order fulfillment.
Ecommerce sellers can use the BPost mobile app to manage orders and deliveries and even schedule pickups. It can also be used to buy packaging material and shipping labels.
