About

TNT Express is an international courier delivery services company headquartered in Hoofddorp, Netherlands. The company was founded by Ken Thomas in 1946 and was originally named KW Thomas Transport. In its initial stage, the company worked with only one truck and was later named Thomas Nationwide Transport (TNT) in 1958.

In January 1962, the company was listed on the Sydney Stock Exchange, and after five years, it merged with Alltrans giving rise to TNT-Alltrans. In the next couple of years till 1996, TNT made some smart acquisitions like Kwikasair, a 25% share in RW Miller, a 63% share in Bulkships, a 50% share in Union Shipping, Condor Ferries, GD Express Worldwide, and so on. All these acquisitions helped them expand their business and strengthen their hold over the market.

However, in 1997, KPN (Dutch telecoms and postal company) took over TNT, later merging it with its PTT Post division. During its ownership, KPN sold several TNT businesses, making it a core mail, express, and logistic service provider. The company named it TNT Postal Group (TPG) and made several acquisitions that helped them list on various stock exchanges. In 2007, when TNT was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange, the company decided to take the express business as a separate entity. Three years later, they announced their decision and finally separated in May 2011. From there onwards, TNT Express has been working alone, building its eCommerce logistics business.

The company serves in a variety of locations, including international destinations, and claims service in over 200 countries. It allows door-to-door service to almost every customer and keeps them in the loop throughout the delivery process. TNT even provides service to new customers requiring urgent delivery, like a day or before. It takes its responsibility quite seriously and pushes its people to make the most of its network and technology.

To connect to the company, you can use ClickPost's API integration with TNT and go live with them in a matter of 24hrs.
